I was rear ended by a man that was going about 20 to 30 mph when he hit me while I was sitting at a stop light,it totaled my car.my bumper was basically in the back seat,He was driving a Ford Explorer and I was in a Honda Civic,so you can just imagine how bad it was.I was injured. I went to the ER the day after the accident and they said it was cervical strain from where the seatbelt lock so tight onto my neck and shoulder. 5 days later it was really bad,went back to the ER, was told that I was having a muscle spasm that would not let go. Now it is 2 weeks since the accident and my neckand shoulder are still sore. The at fault drivers insurance company called and wants to settle the claim.They want to pay my hospital bills and give me $275 for pain and suffering. I didn’t know they did that. I thought you had to get a lawyer if you wanted money for pain and suffering. I have never even considered getting a lawyer . was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Should I take the $275 or do people normally get more then that. I have never been in an accident before. If it matters the Hospital bills are almost $4000 and meds were $100 and Im honestly not out for money,I just want some info thanks…
